Online courses of the Ukrainian Institute

One of the key initiatives of the Ukrainian Institute is the creation of online courses that make knowledge about Ukraine – its culture, history, and society – accessible to a global audience. 

These courses are crucial for promoting a deeper understanding of Ukraine’s unique cultural heritage and modern role, benefiting teachers abroad and individuals beginning to learn about Ukraine. 

The course is free of charge. In English. To enrol, you only need to register on Coursera or Udemy platforms.

To date, the Ukrainian Institute has developed five courses:


UKRAINE: HISTORY, CULTURE, AND IDENTITIES

A short introductory course in the history, culture, and society of Ukraine from the Middle Ages to the present.

Languages: English, French, Spanish, Norwegian, Italian, Arabic; soon Chinese, Hindey.

UKRAINIAN CULTURE: UNDERSTANDING THE COUNTRY AND ITS PEOPLE

An introductory online course in English on Ukrainian Culture.

CRIMEA: HISTORY AND PEOPLE

An introductory course in English on the past and present of Crimea and Crimean Tatars, the indigenous people of Ukraine.  

The course tells about the Crimean Tatar state that existed for more than three centuries – the Crimean Khanatethe, about the unique culture of the Crimean Tatars and their long struggle for the right to return home.

History and culture of Crimean Tatars are an integral part not only of the history of Ukraine but also of the global one, given the problems of indigenous peoples and political, military, and ideological challenges of today.

Language – English. The course consists of 12 video lectures. To take the course, you need to register on the international educational platform Udemy.
