This winter has become one of the hardest Ukrainians have endured since russia’s full-scale invasion.

russia is deliberately targeting power stations, heat-generation facilities — the systems that keep homes, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens warm in freezing temperatures.

In February, russian ballistic missiles devastated the Darnytsia combined heat and power plant, which had supplied heating and hot water to more than 1,000 buildings on the left bank of Kyiv. Thirteen missiles systematically destroyed the facility.

As a result, thousands of families have been left without heat in sub-zero temperatures.
